Events: Golf Day with Harry Redknapp

Posted 10/5/17

On 4th April, The Knights Foundation proudly hosted our first Golf Day of 2017 with very special guest, Harry Redknapp and sponsored by our Patrons at Biffa.

The day started early at Remedy Oak Golf Club with golfers arriving early for registration and breakfast, with time spare for them to practice their swing on the driving range.

Harry Redknapp arrived in good spirits and joined the Biffa team for the golf – a big thank you to Harry for giving up his time to support us. Huge thanks also to Mike Wood, Simon Hoyle & Mick Gumble from Biffa, the sponsors of the event and who also supported us by playing on the day.

After an 11am shotgun start, play got underway in lovely bright and sunny conditions with the halfway house giving the teams the chance to sit in the sun and network with refreshments.

There was additional sponsorship on the day from our Patrons at Peter Cooper Motor Group who kindly provided a hole in 1 prize car and brought along their banners and display cars. Thank you to Darren Cooper for your support.

Julian Palmer at Srixon sponsored the prizes which were fantastic, thank you Julian.

After the golf, a 2 course meal held in the fantastic clubhouse at Remedy oak was followed with the prize presentation and a trivia game about Harry Redknapp. The winners of the day were the team from You Clothing, with Peter Cooper Motor Group as runners up.

After dinner Jamie Gane, Knights Foundation Ambassador and future Paralympian spoke about his achievements and future goals, with Tony Knights explaining how the Foundation are looking to help him with this and how proud we are to be supporting him.

A fantastic day was had by all, Harry told us how much he enjoyed the day and that the Biffa team were a great bunch of guys to play a round of golf with. Thanks to all those who took part in the day and made it such a success.

“I would like to congratulate the Knights events team on another well organised event. The day was awesome, with a good venue food and atmosphere and with like-minded people all wanting to support the Foundation for the work they do in the community. Just got home and wanted to thank you both again for a fabulous day. I hope you managed to enjoy it despite the hard work and most importantly that you raised plenty of cash for the cause”Julian Palmer, Srixon
